Our mentors often serve as one of the only positive influences in the life of youth and young adults involved in the juvenile justice system. Change the trajectory of a young adult's life by providing a sense of support and encouragement, helping them to recognize their worth and the opportunities available to them in the world.
Mentor an Adult in the Justice System
Formerly-incarcerated adults often experience a lack of support when they return to their communities after a period of incarceration. Without support and guidance, a majority of formerly-incarcerated adults turn back to crime as a means of survival, as they often do not know any other way of life. Providing a sense of support and encouragement to these individuals as they transition back into their communities can make all the difference.
Volunteer at the Unity Cafe
Our Unity Cafe, located in Valparaiso, Indiana, is open every Friday from 4:00 - 7:00pm. Each week, we offer open support groups, a free community meal, life skills workshops, and a safe place for people to gather and build community. Help us serve our neighbors by volunteering to cook or serve a meal, facilitate a workshop of your choosing, or come engage with our community!
